Wingfield vs.  Asistenica Senior Homes Inc.

                         Case of the Month

Getting Sued or Want to Sue?

If you can't afford an attorney at the start of your legal journey, an alternative is to have the  proper papers for your jurisdiction filed in order to receive a hearing date. Attorney's are much more receptive to a hearing thats already on the docket and are willing to charge less because of it.

Even Attorneys that take cases on contingency  will be more receptive after being able to view the opposing side's response.  If the opposing side fails to respond within the designated time they lose by default from what is termed a default judgment. Many plaintiffs have the default judgement paperwork already prepared on the day before the deadline in hopes of an untimely response.

California’s Chief Justice, Ronald M. George, has made access to justice a key goal and has been extremely supportive of efforts to improve services to self-represented litigants. He regularly focuses a significant part of his State of the Judiciary address to a joint session of the legislature on access to justice for self-represented litigants. Licensed Legal Document Assistants play a significant part in this by offering services to the public at a fraction of the price of attorneys.

The Law is complex. Relying on software to draft a lawsuit or lawsuit response based on multiple choice questions is risky business at best.
